JOURNAL EDITORS
ANNAM MANTHIRAM, our volunteer Associate Editor, is retiring from Grey
Sparrow Journal. She is the author of the novel, After the
Tsunami (Stephen F. Austin State University Press, 2011) and a short story
collection, Dysfunction, which was a Finalist in the 2010 Elixir Press
Fiction Award. She received an Honorable Mention in the Leapfrog Press’ 2010 fiction
contest. A graduate of the MA Writing program at the University of Southern
California, Ms. Manthiram resides in New Mexico with her husband, Alex, and

one year commitment as a volunteer at Grey Sparrow and she has helped us tirelessly and cheerfully for two. Annam has provided copy edit for many of our issues with great
care, evaluated work for consideration, and offered sage advice.
JOSEPH MICHAEL OWENS is retiring after
approximately two years of service to Grey Sparrow with our spring issue as well. Joe's writing, the
first story Grey Sparrow published by him prior to volunteering at the Sparrow, was recognized with storySouth as one of the top 100 stories on the net.
Joe has helped us tirelessly, with good humor, and wonderful competence as well.
DIANE SMITH, Principal Editor and Founder, was born in the
United States. She retired from child welfare and writes about the homeless,
immigrants, the poor, healthcare; those who have little visibility or power in
society.

(MANDI) CASOLO, Manuscript
Editor for Overwatch by Allen Gray and Shenanigans! by Joseph Michael Owens, is currently employed at Yale University
Press. She graduated with a BA in English literature with a concentration
in creative writing in 2010 from the University of Connecticut and was a
fiction editor for the nationally award-winning literary journal, Long River
Review.

STOBIERSKI, Poetry Editor for Overwatch by Allen Gray and Shenanigans! author Joseph Michael Owens,
is a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut. While a student,
he worked for two years on the universities' literary journal, The Long River Review. This past
year, he served as the Creative Non-fiction editor, and interns at
Yale University Press in the Acquisitions Department. He was our poetry
editor for the first poetry book published by Grey Sparrow Press, Overwatch by
Allen Gray.
