About Me

I have this bad habit:

when a friend tells me

a tale of woe

I counter with a similar story

that features me as

experienced and wise

so that they’ll know it’s possible

to come through this

with courage and grace.

I believe I sincerely want to help

but might it be something else?

Maybe I’m self-involved

Maybe I’m needy

Maybe I’m insecure

Maybe I long to be admired

Or maybe I just have this conviction

that every single story about me is

fascinating.

Take this story, for instance.
