SO MANY RIVERS

I live on the river
far far away

not so much a famous one
yet all those celebrate

becoming one with the flux of night
on the other side of dark
becoming all one water in the other part of light

so Swanee gently flow on
whose to say which one's a dreaming

your sparkling shore   a hologram
of waves and silver stringing

Mississippi rule your great divide
cane breaks to cotton yards
your twists and turns and oxbows turning back in
chaos time

wild Columbia    roll on
power up your dam

and I'll dream you in my river     my silk voiced
Sauble river
across the singing sand
