UNWRITTEN LETTER

What I ask of you is simple

just tell me your name

and write your address

in a silk-woven raven

              I tell you something

you hear it pestering your ears

              like an itchy left elbow

but you can't kiss it with your mouth.

              The itch is still there

              untouched and inflamed.

Maybe distance is better

its sweet tangerine eyes

tell me its beautiful

just watch,

              I ask these lingering thoughts

              what water dreams about

              underneath its curtains of fish

              and blue rivulets that

              ask the moon to dance.

watch the butterfly

bloom from a flower.
