REQUEST

After years of riding

Halley's Comet

away from you,

I've come to ask

for your caresses

before I pass

into dust.

Would you please

unpack that white

mini-skirt

that switched

every flashlight

of my being on.

I would somersault

into your pull,

earthbound passion

and orbit.

—Paul Cordeiro
