A Poet's Song

Chewing stick is best romanced in morning
when the mouth is still fresh
with dreamland spit.
Where is he who lacks
knowledge of the poets song?
Let him approach the tabernacle of
pen painted sheets,
where words are cronies of the mind.
The voice of a spirit
is like serenade confluence
with the clatter of cutlass.
Life has seven phases,
two are poetry planets beyond the sun.
Battle ululation is not for ordinary men.
When village voices arise
they do so not in protest.
First they consult oracles,
then send powerful messages
that sear metal hearts.
