After

Grief is a translucent door

to a different world,

where life is grey

and tasteless,

where the sky is black

and the soft earth

swallows your feet

if you stand still for too long,

your unbroken tears dragging

your head down,

as the flies that feed on sadness

swarm towards you,

mad in their thirst and hunger,

the venom in their humanoid tongues

burning your skin

like a regretfully remembered kiss.
